Oklahoma Twisters We feel that the all-star program here is very unique. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn and love the sport of cheerleading. The process of training should be fun! However it is not always fun. Practices are had work. Positive reinforcement is stressed in coaching. However, this is a potentially dangerous sport and sometimes negative reinforcement is needed to convey the seriousness of the sport. It is our responsibility to teach each all-star to be the best of his/her ability (each all-star's ability is different). The following items will be included in your selection for the all-star squad for which you are selected.

Parents Responsibility Parent involvement is critical if the all-star is to be successful. Each all-star should reach his/her potential at his/her own pace without constant comparison to other cheerleaders. Please be consistent in bringing your child to practice. We do not have alternates. Therefore, if your child misses the entire squad is hurt. The following list includes some of our suggestions for parents.
| |
1. |
Communicate your child's goals to the coach |
| |
2. |
Bring the athlete to practice and competitions on time |
| |
3. |
Communicate to the coach if your child is getting discouraged or frustrated or has his/her feeling hurt |
| |
4. |
Be an encouragement to your child |
| |
5. |
We do not recommend coaching or disciplining your child for anything related to cheerleading (that's what we are here to do) |
| |
6. |
Do not use all-stars as a punishment |
| |
7. |
Trust our coaching staff to do our very best. Not only to make your child the best cheerleader they can be, but also to provide a fun and save environment to learn |

Parent Club The Oklahoma Twisters do have an active parent club. All fundraisers must be approved through the gym owners. All money raised will be placed into an account for each all-star that did that fundraiser. In short what you raise is yours. Fundraising money may be used for any Twister fees (tuition, competition, etc.). Fundraisers are optional. If you quit the Twisters the money in your account goes to the gym and divided by all who have done fundraisers once all outstanding fees have been paid.
