Arrive 10 minutes before required meeting time. The time set to meet the coached is the last moment you should arrive. Late arrivals cause a stressful start to the competition.
Cheerleaders should be in full uniform and make-up upon arrival at the meeting time. Remember the hair bow and tattoo) This includes removing all jewelry and fingernail polish prior to arrival.
Cheerleader's hair should be fixed so that the bow is on top of head and visible to everyone. Put the ponytail on the crown of head, not the back of the head. Bangs must be pulled back and secured out of the cheerleaders face.
Sit together at competitions. The spectator response to the squad's performance is on the score sheet. Let's show the judges we are proud and supportive of all Twister squads. Bring your noise makers and loud voices to the competitions. Yell for the squad during the whole routine.
Shout "O-T-S-F" (clap) "O-T-S-F" (clap) together as a group when the squads enter the room for their performance at the competition.
Volunteers from every squad are needed to arrive early and save a large group of seats in the spectator section. Let's sit together and "MAKE SOME NOISE" for the Oklahoma Twister Squads.
Promptly pick up your cheerleader from the squad parent and/or coaches after they perform. Ask the coach where the "Pick Up Spot" will be when the squad is finished competing. This can be done at the place the cheerleaders exit after competing. Cheerleaders can sit with parents in the stands while watching the other squads performance. This allows time to get them something to eat and/or drink. Jeff and Craig just ask that everyone sit together as a gym and cheer for all Twister squads.
Cheerleaders are to stay in uniform until after awards. If they put on a t-shirt or sweat pants while watching other squads, they will need to put their uniform back on for awards.
Listen for the announcer to call all cheerleaders to the competition mat for awards. This is the time for cheerleaders to go sit with the coaches on the competition floor.
After awards are finished, go to the meeting place to find your child. Once team pictures are taken, the cheerleaders are to stay with coaches until a parent comes to check them out.
Support ALL Squads by yelling "O" "T" "S" "F" (clap) and stay until ALL squads have competed.
